NASA’s next Moon suit will be designed by Prada.

The 2025 Moon mission’s space suits, created in collaboration with premium fashion designer Prada, will ensure that NASA astronauts travel in style.
The Italian fashion brand and Axiom Space, another private enterprise, will collaborate on the suit design.
Axiom said in its press release that Prada will contribute knowledge of materials and production to the project. The astronaut told that, given their background in design, he believed Prada could handle the job.

This experience has been developed through Prada’s participation in the America’s Cup, which is a racing competition in addition to the Milan catwalks.
“Prada has substantial expertise with different kinds of synthetic fabrics and could potentially able to make very real technical improvements to the upper layers of the newly developed space suit,”

However, he stated that it is unrealistic to expect astronauts to be dressed in “paisley space suits or any fancy pattern like that.” The most important thing is to keep the thermal environment in good condition.
“In actuality, a spacesuit resembles a little spacecraft. It must supply oxygen, pressure, and maintain a comfortable temperature for you,” he continued.
Axiom introduced a spacesuit earlier this year that it claimed would be used on the future Artemis 3 mission. It was said that the 55kg suit fit female travelers better.
Artemis and Prada stated in a press release that they would enable “greater investigation of the lunar surface than at any time before” by utilizing “innovative technologies and design”.
