Shannen Doherty has been battling stage 4 breast cancer for years, and she is not giving up.
The 52-year-old “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum said, “I don’t want to die,” to People for their cover story on December 11.
“I have more life left in me. I have more love in me. I have more to create. Hopefully, I’m not done trying to make things better,” she said. “I’m just not — I’m not done.”
After receiving her initial breast cancer diagnosis in 2015, Doherty had radiation, chemotherapy, and a mastectomy. In 2017, she declared herself to be in remission.
She disclosed that the cancer had returned in 2020 and was at stage 4.
The former cast member of “Charmed” revealed earlier this year that the cancer had progressed to her brain and that she had undergone surgery to remove a tumor from her brain, which she named Bob.
Doherty revealed to People in her cover story this week that her cancer has progressed to her bones.
“When you find yourself wondering, ‘Why me? “Why did I develop cancer?” followed by “Why did my cancer return?” Why am I in stage 4? that prompts you to search for life’s greater meaning,” she remarked.
The goal, according to Doherty, is in part to demonstrate that individuals diagnosed with cancer are capable of being “vibrant.”
Her statement, “My greatest memory is yet to come,” “I offer prayers. I pray for the things that are important to me without making excessive requests when I wake up and go to bed, giving thanks to God. It strengthens my spiritual and higher power connections. My motto is my faith.
Additionally, according to Doherty, cancer patients are “grateful for every second, every hour, and every day we get to be here.”
The actress’s memoir-style podcast, “Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty,” was revealed on Wednesday. It will debut on iHeartRadio on December 7.
