Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, and Naomi Campbell dominated the catwalk as the Victoria’s Secret fashion show made its five-year comeback.
The underwear brand debuted Victoria’s Secret: The Tour ’23 on Prime Video on Monday, September 25. A hybrid fashion show and documentary, it was the brand’s first catwalk presentation to air on television since 2018.
It also comes after Victoria’s Secret underwent a significant rebranding following accusations that it failed to safeguard its models against sexual misconduct and promoted an unrealistic body image.
Hadid, who also walks the catwalk, narrates the Tour ’23, which is billed as a “reimagined fashion show with a new generation of women from around the world.” The show’s musical accompaniment is provided by Doja Cat.
A announcement read, “In 2021, Victoria’s Secret began a journey,” prior to the feature-length movie’s opening sequence, which featured a black screen. Giving young artists from all around the world the chance to share their tales and watch their works realized on a global scale was the aim. The VS Show is the platform.
Campbell, on the other hand, stood next to Hadid wearing a corset-style top and a black leather trouser suit.
In a subsequent video, Hadid could be seen teasingly saying, “I mean, come on,” while sporting a gold jewelled bustier and matching shorts. We had to revive a small portion of the previous program.
Hailey Bieber and Emily Ratajkowski were also on the show; they were dressed in a crocheted bikini and a strapless top covered in crystals, respectively.
Ziwe Fumudoh, Abby Champion, and Amelia Hamlin also modeled the line.
For the fashion show, a number of former Victoria’s Secret Angels made a comeback, including Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, and Lily Aldridge.
In 2021, Victoria’s Secret fired the Angels after receiving backlash. The group included Tyra Banks, Lily Aldridge, Chanel Iman, Rosie Huntington-Whitley, Heidi Klum, and Chanel Iman over the years.
Seven accomplished women who formed the VS Collective took the role of the Angels. Models Adut Akech, Paloma Elsesser, and Valentina Sampaio are currently part of the group. Journalist Amanda de Cadenet, athlete Eileen Gu, and football player Megan
The brand’s Icons campaign included models Campbell and Gisele Bundchen, along with members of the VS Collective and some vintage Angels.
The film examined the “misogynistic culture” of the company under former CMO Ed Razek, who was previously charged with numerous instances of indecent touching models.
The claims were already refuted by Razek, who described them as “categorically untrue, misconstrued, or taken out of context.”
