Charis van Metre Burrett and her husband started the cannabis brand The Medicine Woman in early 2015 under prop 215 as a delivery service in south orange county California. They started just the two of them purchasing products for the website, answering phones, taking orders and delivering it themselves until it grew to be the one of largest deliveries in the county.

Charis was the first to retain a medical cannabis license for dispensary, delivery, manufacturing and distribution in the city of bellflower in Los Angeles County in 2017 under the name the same medicine woman. The team opened their first dispensary in early 2019.

In 2000 she and her husband started their next Dispensary/ manufacturing project in Jersey City NJ just on the other side of the tunnel from new York that will be breaking ground this year. “We are super excited about this new jersey project and working with our new partner and long time friend Ice T” Charis’ husband has been a long time friend of ice for a bet.
