We ate at Chef Adrianne’s outrageous eatery- Cracked and let’s just say it’s all it’s “cracked up to be”


In recent years there has been an influx of chefs across America turning their food trucks into brick-and-mortar locations as well as those who dwell in the fine dining arena, are now diving into fast casual. And Miami’s own Chef Adrianne Calvo is both of those. After more than a decade of her award winning, fine dining namesake, Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Bar, Calvo opened Cracked by Chef Adrianne – a causal, fun outpost where food is taken seriously.

After watching Chef Adrianne Calvo on Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay and Big Food Bucket List, we had to make our way to Cracked by Chef Adrianne. It sits on the corner of an unassuming, two story building in the iconic town of South Miami, but the inside is anything but unassuming. Light and airy, bustling with eager diners, and Dua Lipa on the speakers, the vibe was set.

We started out with their signature Sangria; refreshing, strong, and especially loved that it’s not overbearingly sweet. Next, we may have had the Best Chicken Sandwich of our lives. Calvo, who was the winner of Veuve Cliquot’s Cluck Miami (a chic fried chicken competition) houses the winning recipe at Cracked, where diners can enjoy the delicious victory for themselves.

The chicken is crunchy, crispy, and juicy. The bread is pillowy and rich. The slaw is so fresh it has a crisp to it. If that’s not enough to get you dreaming about this sandwich, they add Cracked sauce, and it elevates this fried chicken gem to galactic levels. The meal was a home run so we had to make room for dessert.

Chef Adrianne is famous for her bread puddings and at Cracked, they serve them warm with soft serve ice cream on top. Thank us later.

It’s 10/10 for this outrageous eatery but we really did not expect any less from the Queen of Maximum Flavor. No wonder everyone is digging all these highly acclaimed chefs dabbing into comfort foods. If we are going to indulge in a fast food item, it’s only natural we want it from the very best.
